Life Update: Sailing the Bahamas & SoBe Part Deux

Well hello, my darlings! It’s been a crazy few weeks, to say the least! I’ve gone from partying it up on South Beach beach in Miami Florida all the way to Denver, Colorado where we had everything from snow to t-shirt weather.

If you watch my Instagram Stories you may recall my “man voice” posts for a few weeks. Well, the altitude in Denver made me go straight from the airport to urgent care. Turned out I had bronchitis the whole time!

Now I’m all healed up (and sounding like a female again) and heading out on another trip or two. This next one is near and dear to my heart because it includes knocking an adventure off my bucket list – can you guess which one?

I just stepped foot off a teeny weeny airplane at Marsh Harbour, Bahamas airport. Here I’ll meet my long-time friend Coy, who has a fabulous multi-bedroom sailboat. Along with some new friends, we’ll sail through The Abacos, The Exumas, and finally The Acklins.

I’ll be spending most of my time on a remote southeastern island called Crooked Island, which thrives on fishing and small-scale farming. Sadly the island was devastated by Hurricane Joaquin in 2015, and again by Hurricane Matthew in 2016.

While the rebuild is still steadily moving forward, the island is finally ready to host tourists again! I’m excited to be one of the first to be back to experience one of the two stunning ocean-front lodgings with self-guided snorkeling only steps away from my door.

Beach picnics, fresh caught fish, sailing, and good company in paradise- does it get any better than that?

After sun and fun in the Bahamas, I’ll be flying back to Miami to meet up with Claudia from The Claudia Chronicles for a girls detox weekend. After my Bahamas adventure and her Mediterranean cruising, we’ll both need some intense revitalizing!

I have some super exciting posts coming up on everything from my favorite suitcase, hotels, spas, & more!

Don’t forget to follow along every step of the way on my Instagram stories and posts!
